The following cities require a "Truth in Housing" or "Time of Sale" evaluation any time a property is marketed or offered for sale. The cities of St. Paul & Maplewood require a "Truth in Housing" evaluation prior to marketing any property. This report is required on all single-family, duplex, townhouse or condominiums. The report must be on site and available for all potential buyers to view. Additionally a copy must be provided to the buyer at the time of signing a purchase agreement. The evaluation is a statement of the condition of the property based on the city guidelines it is meant to inform but there are no required corrections. "We had some general concerns about the condition of our 20 year old home and hired Thomas Stone to do a general visual inspection. We were impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. Thomas inspected the inside and outside of the house and pointed out several items that will help in maintaining the longevity of our home. He took digital pictures of the outside areas of concern, which we viewed immediately on his laptop sitting at the kitchen table. He had some excellent advice and it was evident that his years of experience in home remodeling gave him some insights that were beyond what we expected in a home inspection. We would highly recommend Thomas Stone as a knowledgeable and professional home inspector."
